INVITATION
We are holding an open evening at the Longford Arms this Thursday,
11 March at 8.00pm. The purpose of the evening is to look at how
we can support each area within the town (including approach areas
to the town). We are also looking for feedback and suggestions about
our work to date. We are keen to meet, not only existing volunteers,
but also people who not have been involved in tidy towns so far.
If you would like to help in your own area, even in a modest way,
come along on Thursday -we would particularly you to attend and
we'll chat about how we can help you. The evening will be informal
with the focus on how we can all make our town a tidier place. Please
mention this to people who you think might be interested.
ST PATRICK'S DAY PARADE
We appeal to people to keep our town tidy on St Patrick's Day. All
entrants in the St Patrick's Day Parade have been asked to avoid
handing out any leaflets or sweets - as both of these have created
serious litter during previous parades. Volunteers from Tidy Towns
and Longford Chamber of Commerce will carry out a tidy up immediately
after the parade - to emphasise the importance of keeping our town
tidy.
WILDLIFE
Attention to this area generates marks in the National Tidy Towns
